Super PDF - Files Reader Privacy Policy
Last Updated: October 19, 2026
Effective Date: October 19, 2026
Super PDF - Files Reader (the "App" or "Service") provides tools for scanning, creating, viewing, and editing PDFs, recognizing text with OCR, compressing PDFs, and translating PDF content. In this Privacy Policy, "we," "us," and "our" refer to the developer operating the App.
This Policy describes the information involved in these features, how it may be used or disclosed, and your privacy choices and rights. Please read it before using the App. Any legally required permission or consent is requested separately; using the App does not replace that requirement.
When you choose a document feature, the App processes the content needed to perform that action. This may include:
· Camera images captured when you photograph or scan paper pages.
· Images selected for conversion to PDF and PDF files selected for viewing or editing.
· Text recognized through OCR and document content selected for translation.
· Text you add, font choices, brush marks, mosaic effects, text boxes, and other edits.
· Settings used for brightness, contrast, saturation, horizontal or vertical flipping, clockwise rotation, and compression.
· Resulting files, recognized or translated text, and relevant file details such as format, size, or page count.
Your selected documents may contain personal or confidential information. What is processed depends on the content you choose and the action you request.
OCR processes selected images or scanned pages to recognize text. PDF translation processes the document content needed for translation and the language options you choose. Processing can involve source pages, images, extracted text, and the resulting text or file.
The processing location depends on how the relevant feature is implemented. For processing performed on your device, the selected content is handled locally for that operation. Where an OCR or translation feature uses an online service, the content required for your request and associated technical request information may be transmitted to us or the relevant processing provider. Online processing is subject to the service-provider safeguards and retention rules described below.
We or integrated service providers may collect device model, operating system and App versions, system language, general regional settings, network type, IP address, App sessions, feature interactions, advertising events, and crash or diagnostic information. Advertising identifiers, including the IDFA, are accessed only where permitted and after obtaining any required authorization.
Device identifiers and IP addresses may qualify as personal information. Information is not considered anonymous simply because it does not include your name.
If you contact us, we receive your email address, message, and any material you choose to include. We use this information to respond, investigate problems, or handle privacy requests. Include only material relevant to your inquiry.
Camera access supports photographing and scanning pages to create PDFs or obtain images for OCR. The operating system requests authorization where required. If you decline access, camera-based capture and scanning are unavailable.
Image import uses images you select or authorize through the operating system's photo controls. Depending on the import method and system version, a system picker or photo permission may be used. The selected images are processed for the document action you request.
PDF import and access use the operating system's file selection or document-access controls. The App processes files you select for viewing, editing, OCR, compression, or translation. System file selection is distinct from a request for unrestricted access to all device storage.
If advertising involves tracking under Apple's rules or access to the IDFA, we obtain the required App Tracking Transparency authorization before enabling that activity. Additional consent required by applicable privacy law is requested through the relevant consent interface. Declining tracking authorization does not prevent use of the document features.
We use information for the following purposes:
· Create PDFs from camera captures, scans, or imported images, and display selected PDFs.
· Perform requested editing, text recognition, compression, and PDF translation.
· Apply your selected document settings and make processing results available to you.
· Operate the App, understand general usage, diagnose failures, and improve reliability.
· Deliver and measure advertising, subject to applicable permissions and consent.
· Address misuse or security incidents, respond to support and privacy requests, and meet legal obligations.
Document content processed for a requested feature is used for that feature and any support action you separately request. We do not use your document content to make decisions about eligibility for employment, credit, insurance, housing, or other similarly significant matters.
Where a legal basis is required, we rely on the basis appropriate to the activity: performance of our agreement with you where processing is necessary to provide a requested feature; consent for processing that requires it; legitimate interests in maintaining reliability and security where your rights do not override those interests; or compliance with legal obligations.
You may withdraw consent using relevant system settings or available consent controls, or contact us for help. Withdrawal applies to processing based on consent and does not make earlier lawful processing unlawful.
The App may display third-party advertisements. Advertising providers may process permitted identifiers, IP addresses, device and system information, App interactions, ad impressions and interactions, and a general region inferred from an IP address. These activities support delivery, measurement, and prevention of advertising fraud.
We do not provide your PDF contents, imported images, camera captures, annotations, OCR results, or translated content to advertising partners for personalized advertising. Consent or system authorization is obtained for personalized advertising and tracking where required.
Applicable device or consent controls may let you limit advertising uses of information. Limiting personalization or tracking does not necessarily remove advertisements.
Where an online OCR or translation provider is used, it may receive the selected document content required to complete your request, your chosen processing or language options, and technical information needed to return a result. Providers processing content on our behalf must use it within the authorized service purpose and applicable processing restrictions.
Supporting infrastructure providers may process information needed to transmit requests, operate the feature, and investigate technical failures. If you have questions about the providers used for a document feature or their handling of content, contact us using Section 16.
We may disclose information in the following circumstances:
· To complete your selected document action through a processing provider where that feature uses an online service.
· To advertising, analytics, diagnostic, infrastructure, or support providers, limited to information relevant to their services and subject to applicable consent requirements.
· When you choose to provide material to us while seeking support or exercising a privacy right.
· Where required by law or a valid legal request, or where legally permitted and reasonably necessary to address fraud, security incidents, misuse, or protection of rights and safety.
We do not sell document content for monetary payment. Advertising-related disclosures of other personal information may nevertheless be treated as a sale or sharing under some privacy laws. Applicable opt-out rights are explained in Sections 10 and 11.
Depending on where providers operate, information may be processed outside your country of residence. We apply legally required safeguards for international transfers and can provide information about safeguards relevant to your information on request.
The App may keep selected or created documents, processing results, temporary working files, and relevant settings on your device. Locally stored information remains until it is replaced or removed using available App or operating-system controls. Deleting the App and its associated data may remove local information, subject to the system and its backup arrangements.
Where online document processing is used, transmitted content and request records may also be held by the relevant processing services for the period needed to provide the requested operation and meet applicable security or legal requirements. Provider processing is subject to the safeguards described in this Policy. You can contact us about retention relevant to a particular feature.
Technical, diagnostic, advertising, and support information is retained only as long as reasonably needed for its stated purpose, considering the information type and legal, security, or dispute-resolution requirements. When retention is no longer needed, information is deleted or rendered anonymous, unless law requires further retention.
Deleting local App data does not automatically remove device backups or information already received by another service. You may request deletion of eligible information held by us or processed on our behalf. For information held only on your device, we can explain available controls but may be unable to remove it remotely.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect information from unauthorized access, loss, alteration, misuse, or disclosure. Measures include appropriate access restrictions, data minimization, protection of network transfers, and review of service-provider safeguards.
Providers receiving personal information from us must provide the protection required by this Policy and applicable law. Where relevant, we require contractual restrictions covering permitted processing, confidentiality, security, retention, deletion, and further disclosure.
No network transfer or electronic storage method can provide absolute security. Protecting your device and controlling access to your documents also help protect locally stored information.
You may review camera and photo permissions and relevant advertising or tracking choices using your device's controls or applicable consent interfaces. Withdrawing a device permission affects future access and does not automatically erase files or results already created.
Depending on the law that applies, you may have rights to:
· Obtain information about processing and request access to your personal information.
· Correct inaccurate information or request deletion of eligible information.
· Restrict certain processing or object to processing based on legitimate interests.
· Withdraw consent and receive eligible information in a portable format.
· Opt out of applicable sales, sharing, or targeted advertising, and limit certain uses of sensitive information.
· Complain to a competent data-protection authority.
Contact us through Section 16 to exercise a right. We may request limited information needed to locate records and verify a request where law permits or requires verification. We do not require identity verification for an opt-out request where that is prohibited. We respond within the period required by applicable law and explain any lawful limitation on a request.
If the CCPA, as amended by the CPRA, applies to our processing, California residents may have rights to know and access personal information, request correction or deletion, receive eligible data in portable form, opt out of sale or sharing, and limit certain uses or disclosures of sensitive personal information.
Relevant information categories and purposes appear in Sections 1 and 3, recipients in Sections 6 and 7, and retention criteria in Section 8. Although we do not sell document content for money, advertising disclosures may fall within California's definitions of sale or sharing, including advertising across different businesses' services.
Where applicable, you can submit an opt-out request through available privacy controls or by emailing us. We honor legally required opt-out preference signals where they apply. An authorized agent may act for you subject to applicable verification rules. We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.
Where the GDPR or similar European privacy law applies, the rights in Section 10 are available subject to the conditions and exceptions of the relevant law. You may also object to direct marketing and request information about safeguards used for international transfers.
You can complain to the competent data-protection authority, including the authority for your place of habitual residence or work where applicable. Contacting us first is optional and does not restrict that right.
The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under that age. Higher minimum ages or parental-consent requirements apply where local law requires them.
A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided personal information without required consent should contact us. We will review the concern and take appropriate steps to delete eligible information and address any improper collection.
Integrated services may use permitted advertising identifiers, device identifiers, local storage, or similar technologies for advertising, analytics, security, and service measurement. Available controls depend on the technology, device, region, and applicable consent requirements.
We may revise this Policy as App features, providers, information practices, or applicable requirements change. The revised Policy will show updated dates and be made available through the App.
We provide additional notice and obtain consent for changes where required. A Policy update does not replace any separate consent legally required for a new processing activity.
